Desert Glass

I was tasked by Desert Shield Auto Glass with creating a site that would be bright and bold and be esay to use on smaller devices. It was felt that many visitors to this site would be using mobile phones so we had to make sure it performed just as well on smaller screens as it would on desktop monitors.

The branding was already pretty set from the companies existing livery so translating it to the web was fairly straight forward.

The responsive nature of the site, to allow the design and content to grow and shrink depending upon viewport size; meant that the larger background 'swoosh' image was rather troublesome to implement, choosing to pixelate badly depending upon how it was viewed. It was then decided to use a scalable SVG for the background image then and this would ensure a crisp edge to the artwork regardless of how the image was stretched to fit the screen.

Along with an extended round of browser testing and responsive tweaks the end result performs beautifully on every device I have managed to get my hands on.

You can view the completed site at ..but use your phone :)
